UWA offers a variety of free academic support resources to help students achieve their educational goals.
UWA Tutoring & Testing Center
Free tutoring in most courses is available to all on-campus undergraduate students through the UWA Tutoring & Testing Center. Whether students need a single tutoring session or ongoing weekly support, tutoring appointments can be scheduled through the for any course.
The Tutoring & Testing Center also offers:
- A computer lab
- Comfortable study spaces
- Quiet study rooms
- Printing services
- Study hall check-in
- Laptop checkout for test-taking

The UWA Writing Center
The University of West Alabama Writing Center offers writing assistance to students from all academic disciplines across campus. Students may schedule a session through the for writing support in any course or drop in for assistance based on tutor availability.
The Writing Center is not an editing service. Instead, tutors collaborate with students to strengthen their writing and communication abilities across all subjects and disciplines. Each tutoring session is personalized based on the student鈥檚 specific needs and goals.

The Mathematics Laboratory
Also known as the Math Lab, the Mathematics Laboratory supports undergraduate students in their mathematics courses through drop-in tutoring and study resources. Students may visit the Math Lab during open hours to receive assistance in math courses from peer tutors.

- Graphing calculators available for checkout
- Computers for tutoring sessions and studying

Brainfuse Online Tutoring
Students have access to free 24/7 live online tutoring and writing support through the Brainfuse Online Tutoring platform.
Brainfuse is available in Blackboard and can be accessed through the Tools area within all courses.
