Lake LU Closure Notice

Lake LU is currently undergoing improvements to support the University of West Alabama’s new fishing team and Outdoor Fellows Program. Construction includes new boat pavilions, renovations to existing lakefront buildings, and other facility enhancements designed to expand student learning and recreational opportunities.

For the safety of our campus and visitors, public access to Lake LU is temporarily restricted during construction. The following amenities are currently closed:

  • Beach
  • Picnic areas
  • Pavilions
  • Public and recreational fishing
  • Boat access from any location around the lake

We appreciate your patience as we invest in the future of Lake LU. These enhancements will strengthen the lake’s role as a destination for outdoor recreation, conservation education, and student engagement. Please check this page for updates as construction progresses.
