The Department of University Studies empowers students to explore diverse academic pathways while designing personalized programs aligned with their career goals.
Through our interdisciplinary studies major, students integrate coursework from multiple fields into a cohesive, purposeful degree. For students entering UWA and still determining their academic direction, our exploratory major offers a supportive, non-degree option to discover interests, build foundational skills, and clarify next steps before eventually declaring a full degree program. Faculty and advisors provide holistic guidance for first-time and transfer students to ensure students develop a clear path forward.
By fostering curiosity, flexibility, and intentional planning, the department helps students build meaningful academic experiences that prepare them for evolving careers and lifelong learning in their respective fields.
