The University of West Alabama partners with to provide convenient, basic healthcare services for UWA undergraduate students, faculty, and staff.
Students who pay the UWA Student Medical Fee are eligible for services and should bring their insurance information to their appointment. Uninsured and underinsured students may also qualify for care. For eligibility, billing questions, or to schedule an appointment, call (205) 652-7001.

Accessing Services
Students may visit the clinic as a walk-in patient or schedule an appointment by calling (205) 652-7001.
Please note that neither the University Medical Center provider nor any University employee can issue medical excuses for missed classes. Decisions regarding excused absences are made by each student’s instructor in accordance with University policies.
Photo Identification
For your security and to help expedite check-in, you must present a valid photo ID at your appointment. A UWA ID card is preferred, but a driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued photo ID is also accepted.
After-Hours and Emergency Care
If you need medical attention after regular clinic hours or in an emergency, seek care at one of the following facilities:
The University cannot provide transportation to medical facilities but can arrange ambulance service upon request. Students are responsible for all costs associated with ambulance transportation and hospital care.
Students living on campus who experience a medical emergency should contact their Resident Assistant or Hall Director immediately. Housing staff will notify University Police, who will determine whether emergency medical services should be dispatched.
