The University of West Alabama has announced the appointment of Donald Smith as coach of its cheerleading team. Smith assumed the graduate assistant position in August, having spent the last five years in coaching and game day strategy roles.

The University of West Alabama Board of Trustees has approved the naming of the athletic field on campus in honor of alumnus and trustee Terry J. Bunn of Tuscaloosa. The naming comes as the athletic field and Tiger Stadium undergo major renovations and upgrades planned for the coming months. The most visible upgrade thus far is the new synthetic turf.

The University of West Alabama has announced that Kylee Koch will lead the varsity cheerleading team, filling the vacancy as the team prepares for summer cheer camp in July. Koch is a 2019 graduate of UWA and will continue her studies in pursuit of a master鈥檚 degree in integrated marketing communications. She brings to the role seven years of cheer and tumbling coaching and instruction, as well as a career focus in communications.
